National Series Rule Reminder

With the 2022 OTHG South National just around the corner, we would like to remind our members of two very important rules:

  • All riders must be fully evaluated:
    • New members must have their 2 evaluation races completed
    • Returning members must have competed in at least 2 races in the past 12 months or 4 races in the past 24 months
  • All riders must run the correct format backgrounds and numbers

Failure to follow either of these rules can result in a protest and subsequent disqualification!

The above requirements do NOT apply to Support classes.

Per the OTHG By-Laws, the following is required for each class:

  • Beginner
    • Green Backgrounds
    • White Numbers/Letters
  • Novice
    • Yellow Backgrounds
    • Black Numbers/Letters
  • Intermediate
    • Black Backgrounds
    • White Numbers/Letters
  • Expert
    • White Backgrounds
    • Black Numbers/Letters
  • Master
    • White Backgrounds
    • Black Numbers/Letters
  • Women
    • Blue Backgrounds
    • White OR Yellow Numbers/Letters

The only exception to the above is that the number one rider for a chapter and national champions from the prior year may run a red background with white or black numbers/letters.

Numbers and Chapter Designation Letters must be displayed on all 3 number plates on your bike. Chapter Designation Letters must be a minimum of 1.5 inches in height

  • South = G
  • Sierra = S
  • Bay = B
  • Reno = R
  • Valley = V
