Race Recap | OTHG Season Opener

After a brief 2 month layoff, members of the OTHG MX Club, South chapter were ready and eager to get back to racing! There were a lot of old friends and a lot of new smiling faces in attendance, with everyone excited to be racing on the national track at the world famous Glen Helen, “The Baddest Track in the Land!” The weather was perfect and the track prep was immaculate. Practice got underway and the roar of the thunderous 4 strokes was a pleasant sound.

Bryan Dodge 150g leads a pack of aggressive Intermediates racers into Talladega!

Bryan Dodge Jr 150g battling with eventual 45 Intermediate winner, Jon Agnew 719g. Bryan would go 1-2, while Jon would go 2-1.

James Kibbe, AKA WebDude had a consistent day going 3-3 for third overall.

Jeff Brower’s first race in the 45 expert class after a dominating 2024 in the 45 Intermediate class. Jeff went 2-2 for second overall.

Dakota Gardner showed up to the OTHG opener at Glen Helen with yellow novice backgrounds on his Stark Varg. However, Dakota rides in 30 Master class! Dakota put on a riding clinic and showed just how competitive the Stark is for vet racing!

Ryan West was on the gas all day at Glen Helen. Ryan went 1-1 in the 30 Expert class for the overall victory.

PASHA loves racing 125’s!! In fact he owns a number of high performance 125’s. In order to race 125 and be competitive, you need to make as much power as possible. That is where Chris Heinrich of Heinrich Power comes in. Chris is one of the best 125 engine builders around! All PASHA’s 125s are powered by high performance engines built by Chris himself. PASHA and Chris battled all day on the 125’s. Chris went 5-4 and nudged out PASHA, who went 4-6. Chris would finish 4th overall.

Matt Itamura 38g, leads Bruce Crisswell 886g and Dave Riley 127g out of a sandy Glen Helen turn. Bruce would get the best of Matt at the end of the day and go 4-2 for second overall, while Matt would go 3-3 for third on the day in 58 Expert. Dave Riley would finish 3-4 for fourth overall in 52 Expert.

Corey Clark was making his YZ250 scream around the Glan Helen National track! Up until a collision with another rider at the bottom of Mount St Helens broke his shift lever.

One of the OTHG’s newest members, Romeo Popentiu put in a solid performance and went 1-1 in the 30 Beginner class.

Kevin Bailey drives from Las Vegas just to race with the OTHG. When Kevin is not racing with the OTHG, he works as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Clark County Fire Dept.

Jason Janavicius Had a solid day at Glen Helen going 1-1 in the 45 Expert class.

Former OTHG #1 rider Eric Clemson always has fun and makes riding a dirt bike fast look so easy! Eric went 2-2 in the 58 Master class for second overall.

The start of the Masters and Expert classes is something to witness!
