For the seventh year running, we held the 9/11 Memorial Race. This year, the event took place at Glen Helen Raceway on the main track. It also doubled as round 4 of the 5 round Glen Helen Summer Series.
As part of the opening ceremonies, longtime member Keith Brockmann presented the nation’s colors and South Chapter President Richard Hurtado gave a heartfelt speech. It was a somber moment of remembrance for everyone before a day of racing got underway. I believe the club and everyone in attendance were entirely thankful to be a part of it.
Once racing got underway, everyone was in for a treat as we were given a unique layout for the Glen Helen main track. It included the infrequently used back canyon section as well as cutting out some slower front sections to provide maximum speed and flow. A great track with great weather meant a lot of happy riders stoked to be out there!
