It happened! We dropped some gates! We went racing!
After a much delayed start to our season due to various back to back (to back) weather events, we finally got 2024 underway… And what a great way to get started! We had a big turn out at Honolulu Hills Raceway as riders from all over came out to get a preview of what things might look like for the upcoming South Chapter National. The weather was phenomenal, with some light rain leading up on Friday and Saturday. This made for absolutely PRIME track conditions as we got started on Sunday. The Sun (and Moto Gods) shined upon us for a great day of racing.
The track itself was long, had good flow, and a great mix of obstacles. Dirt ranges from sand to hard pack clay with everything else in between. Honolulu Hills offers something for everyone!
We’re sure some of you noticed the first motos ran for a lengthy amount of time. Our Expert and Master riders were putting in lap times just under the 3 minute mark, so they ended up racing for about 28 minutes to get 10 laps done! We made some adjustments as the rest of the first motos ran and had everything dialed in by the second half of the day. For anyone who may have been a bit miffed about riding for too long, we are not sorry. BUT, we will certainly be dialed in for the rest of the year now that we have shaken off the cobwebs.
Enough fluff! Check out the results and photos below!
